Day 59 Jackson Hole

June 29, 2013

From Lander, Wyoming we traveled slowly behind two big rig RV's and made it to Jackson. After a bit of trouble finding the campground, we got set up and the four of us headed in to check out Grand Teton National Park visitor center and see the touristy town of Jackson.

We watched the Grand Teton video and afterward the curtains open to reveal this stunning view.

These gates of elk antlers, shed each spring and picked up by boy scouts decorate four corners of the town square. Jackson has a national elk refuge just north of town that is home to thousands of elk that migrate to this area every autumn.

We happened to be in town at 6pm to catch the "shoot out".

Aftermath of the "shootout".

Total Miles: 200
Total Gas $: a small fortune by now
