Oct 20-28 Autumn in Door County

Oct 20-28, 2016

We are back on the beach!

A little chillier this time, but just as pretty :)

Somehow Ryan is still wearing shorts...

I've missed these sunrises!

Hi Bapa!

Ryan taking the Harley for a ride into town.

He met us at the YMCA park.

Another pretty sunrise.

Visiting Nana

at St Peter and Paul. We celebrated her birthday this week.

A warm-ish day on the beach today!

Lunch with Bapa.

Some more beach time.

Hiking on the Nature Conservancy trails, enjoying some fall colors.

Then back to the beach.

And riding cars in the driveway.

The sun rises over the clouds on the horizon.

More hiking!

Evergreen buds (I think).

Shoulder ride!

Elena, that's not what you are supposed to do?!?

Our feisty girl.

Family pic near the end of our hike.

Sunset.

Bedtime story.

Valmy Happy Hour with Bapa.

Elena showing her artistic side.

Daily sunrises kept me entertained (it helps to have a daughter who rises early).

Sturgeon Bay Historical Museum.

Business at our bird feeder!

My 40 min (not 40 oz) of freedom. Om.

AND I found our missing glove. Time to head back home, it was a lovely autumn week in Wisconsin!

Oct 7-9 New Orleans

Oct 7-9, 2016

Ryan and I got away for a weekend in New Orleans with friends for some good music and food (and a conference). First stop was Cafe Du Monde. Cafe Au Lait and beignets at 9pm, yes please.

Bourbon street crowds.

A mardi gras indian joins Cory Henry at Tipitina's? How could we be so lucky?

Strolling through Treme neighborhood.

Louis Armstrong Park.

Scenes from New Orleans.

Classic New Orleans architecture.

Kermit Ruffins singing behind us!

Cyril Neville at The Maple Leaf. Second set included Fire on Mountain, oh my!

Our crew (sans Sonia taking the photo) awaiting the Second Line to start.

Ryan with Sonia and Raj.

A cemetary, new Orleans style.

Some of the parade goers dancing on the steps of a church.

Getting our groove on with the locals.

I feel like funkin' it up.

What a fun experience, streets full of people dancing and playing spirited music!

Ryan gave his fun gear to this cutie.

Snug Harbor, our last stop for jazz, not our favorite, but worthwhile seeing. Special shout out to my mom and dad for caring for Elena while we were gone!
